Thousands of ex-service (ESO) and veteran service (VSO) organisations exist in Australia, with various specific interests, aims and target audiences. All have different models of intake, methods of contacting veterans, and program delivery. This can be perceived by the veteran community as confusing and difficult to navigate, reducing the ability of all organisations to provide their services to veterans. A model of support grounded in theory was developed for use by Victorian ESO. The aims were to develop a system that was veteran-focussed, increased the ability of all ESO to reach veterans, and increased collaboration. This presentation describes the Veteran Central concept which is the central initiative of the RSL Victoria Resilient Veteran Strategy.
