This is an outreach programme directed at the homeless community on the Gold Coast, Queensland. The outreach group are derived from graduates and their carers from the REBOOT Combat Recovery Courses that have been completed in Queensland. The participants are military veterans, first responders, missionaries and their wives and partners who have assisted and supported each person on their journey with PTSD. REBOOT Combat Recovery is a peer led and peer supported course that looks at the elements of PTSD and the effect on the family unit. It was originally written in the USA for their veterans as a 12 week course and brought to Australia by Andy and Zoe Cullen. There have been more than 10 courses completed in Australia, and the 12 week format has been modified to be delivered in 4 days as an intensive course. This model can be used in a face to face group setting and lends itself ideally to the remote format.
