NSW Government Veterans Employment Program

The NSW Government Veterans Employment Program (VEP) was originally established to support 200 veterans find meaningful and sustainable employment within the NSW Public Sector during the Centenary of Anzac. As of 30 September 2018, the program had exceeded the initial target and seen 831 veterans employed in new roles. On Remembrance Day 2018 the NSW Premier announced a four year extension of VEP and a new target for the NSW Government to support 1000 veterans find new roles by 2023. VEP is an education and communication platform. VEP assists NSW Government Human Resource Personnel and Hiring Managers understand the transferable skills veterans can bring to the workforce. VEP helps veterans understand the benefits and application process for NSW Government roles. A range of tools have been developed to support veterans through the application process and they are all available on our website. In partnership with TAFE NSW, we developed the Veterans Education Program which provides grants to assist eligible veterans who wish to further their education to gain meaningful employment post their Defence career.  Further information about VEP can be found on the website. We also have an active Veterans Community, please follow us on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
